Small Group Ministry

From Deacon Sue……………and our Small Groups Leadership Team

It warms our hearts to hear the authentic feedback from small group members vitally engaged in a small group community at Grace Anglican. This is the question we ask: How does your small group community meet your needs and help you in your spiritual growth?

Here are highlights of their responses:

· I know that I have friends I can count on more than ever before.

· I am respected for who I am

· This is my first real experience in a loving, Christ-centered community

· This is a safe place to share my thoughts and grow

· We care about reaching out to others in our church family and community. Can’t wait to do our outreach projects to share the Love of Christ to others this advent season as a small group community!

· I love reading the Scriptures in a deeper more meaningful way. God’s Word is coming alive to me.

· I love doing the lessons that apply to my life, right now.

· I look forward to our group time. I feel God’s Presence powerfully. Helps me through the week.

· Something special happens when we have a meal together. Love the meals we share.

· I love when we all share our God moments where we see God definitely working in our everyday lives.

· I am beginning to understand how much bigger God is than any challenge I’m dealing with.

Thank you for filling out the needs/interest surveys last month. We will use your input to guide our planning for small groups as well as midweek and Sunday teachings in 2012. Grace Anglican Distinctives

You have asked: What are the distinctive of Grace Anglican?

a. We are sharing how we align with the early Christian church community and our Anglican Tradition in our midweek and Sunday teachings through the end of November

b. We are reviewing the Outline of Our Faith for those interested in being confirmed or received by our Bishop at the end of November through special sessions and a retreat November 11-13

c. Our theme for our December midweek and Sundays will be Anglican Advent Traditions

2. Learning God’s Word at the Heart Level for Spiritual Transformation(January 2012)

We plan to offer 6-week fellowship/small group sessions by geographic areas starting the week of January 16 for fellowship and deepening our heart understanding of God’s Word to live as followers of Christ in Community. What a way to start the new year! Consider engaging in one of these short term groups to make new friends and grow spiritually wherever you are.

3. Specialty Groups: We are also planning for future specialty groups for recovery, spiritual formation, wholeness/healing, searching for meaning in life (Alpha).

In the coming months, we’ll be sharing inspiring testimonies of how small groups are experiencing the fullness of God’s purpose for individuals in a community under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, learning to love God and our neighbors as part of God’s divine plan for us.
